Spoken memories

Let us help record your family’s story — for generations to come

Every family has a story worth preserving. Bonegilla Migrant Experience invites people with a connection to Bonegilla to take part in a recorded video or audio interview, ensuring their memories, experiences and voices are not lost with time. These recordings capture the emotion, personality and humanity behind each journey, creating a powerful legacy for children, grandchildren and generations yet to come.

By participating, you can contribute to a growing collection of spoken memories that bring Bonegilla to life, deepening understanding of its history and honouring the people whose journeys shaped it.

Participation is voluntary and guided by our friendly team at Bonegilla Migrant Experience, who will support and guide you through the process from start to finish.

Once the interview is complete, it will be saved as part of Bonegilla Migrant Experience’s Spoken Memories records.

With your permission, we can arrange for an edited recording to be uploaded to the Bonegilla Identity Card(s) of the family member(s) you nominate, which form part of the online Bonegilla Identity Card and Memory Collection. As such, your recording will be publicly available via Bonegilla Migrant Experience’s website and Bonegilla Migrant Experience’s YouTube channel.

Recordings may also potentially be shared with AlburyCity for inclusion in the Bonegilla Collection held at the Albury LibraryMuseum.

If you’re interested, register your interest below and we’ll be in touch with further information.
