Step back in time and take part in immersive experiences and hands-on activities as you explore and learn about the fascinating history of Bonegilla Migrant Reception and Training Centre. Then tuck into some freshly made scones with jam and cream available for purchase from the Welcome Centre.
The Suitcase Trail
Collect an explorer’s pack from the Welcome Centre and find the suitcases to discover even more shared stories of Bonegilla’s past.
Traditional games
Have fun with family by playing traditional board and lawn games located throughout the site - including dominos, chess, table tennis, cards, Jenga and more!
Scavenger Hunt
Pick up your map and discovery sheet from the Welcome Centre and follow the trail to find answers of the past.
Look and Find
Grab an activity sheet from the Welcome Centre and find historic objects hidden around the site.
Colouring station
Keep little hands busy at our colouring station with a kaleidoscope of colour.
Guided tours
Explore original camp buildings, hear shared stories and truly walk in the shoes of the 320,000 migrants who made this their first Australian home. Regular guided tours run on a Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday with additional tours scheduled during the school holidays. Bonegilla Migrant Experience is open daily from 10am to 4pm, closed Christmas day. Free admission for children 16 years and under. Multi-visit passes available.
